Amiable (aka Amanda Astra)
Giving away homemade mix tapes to her friends at school, Amanda Astra began growing as a DJ at the young age of 13 years old. With an obsession over sound and recording, she spent lots of time unnecessarily recording sounds of everyday life, indoors and outdoors which fascinated her as she played them back to herself. While her Barbies collected dust, Amanda began playing around with audio software that allowed her to manipulate those sounds and she soon began creating music of her own at the age of 16.

The name Amanda Astra has graced the flyers of Toronto's top electronic music night clubs such as The Guvernment and Footwork, rated as 33rd and 79th in Resident Advisor's top night clubs in the world as of 2009.
Her sound is best described as deep tech house with feel-good, groovy, funky undertones.

Currently she resides in Spain, playing shows under her alias, Amiable.
