Toronto, Canada
Doug Shattler aka RandomDoug was born in Toronto in the early 80’s, at a time when disco was falling out of fashion, a time that saw the rise of pop and new wave. Soon after, with the advent of digital recording, the use of synthesizers and DJs taking over the music scene, a new genre coming out of Chicago and New York called “House Music” was born. Other electronic genres such as electro, techno, freestyle and Eurodance featuring non-traditional instruments also began to creep into the nightclubs.
RandomDoug spent a couple years honing his craft and playing random pro bono gigs and house parties until 2007 when he got his first official gig at Acid Lounge (Guvernment Nightclub). After Acid Lounge, Doug secured gigs at the Boom Boom Room (Windsor), Lily (TO), Comfort Zone, Purple Room (Kitchener), Footwork (TO), Tabu (London), Ryze (TO) and T2 (Vaughan). RandomDoug currently holds a residency at Comfort Zone, the mecca of Toronto underground clubs.
