This mix is Alejandro Asencio's warm-up promo for his Body Talk residency.
Body Talk was a monthly queer dance party that took place at Dalston Superstore (Dalston, East London) between 2009 and 2014. The party was started by Paul Bryan aka ROKK, Parlophone's A&R and resident at seminal nights Boombox and NagNagNag. His policy was to give musical freedom to his resident DJs creating always a superb music-lovers atmosphere. Alejandro Asencio was one the Body Talk residents alongside Tristan Reed and Charlie Bones. He played vinyl only sets to a disco, nu-jazz, and house soundtrack.
Over the years Body Talk established itself as one of East London's key nights featuring guest acts such as Robert Owens, Robyn, Lindy Layton, Linkwood, DiY, Billie Ray Martin, etc.
Rokk and Alejandro continued to play together hosting a variety of events that included playing with Horse Meat Disco residents, a private set at the V&A Museum and a residency at Bridges (Norwich).
