I Dance Alone

I Dance Alone is a mixtape I crafted in February 2021 during a short stay back home in Elche.

My friend M.A. had just started organising a series of dance retreats called Maritron. These sessions followed the 'silent disco' format in which we danced to the same DJ set synchronically on our headphones. They take place around the natural enclave of the Rebollo sand dunes and beaches, a popular cruising area in the south of Alicante province. Maritron represents a safe space for healing through dance, self-expression, and nurturing healthy desexualised relationships between gay, bi, and queer man.

The mixtape is aimed at dancing across electronic genres and features tracks by Goldfrapp, UNKLE, Jessy Lanza, Daft Punk, Los Teke Teke or Swayzak.

Just picture yourself dancing alone to this with a backdrop of blue skies, palm trees, warm winter sunshine, and the warm breeze of the Mediterranean Sea.
