Drift Loess is a project of Austin Stewart a new media artist, producer, and DJ.

The term Drift Loess describes hills comprised of the wind blown remains of landscapes pulverized by the rhythm of advancing and receding glaciers–geologic agents of transformative change. Taking this name is a reference to my understanding of music and dance as agents of transformational change in the mind/body and an understanding that we can only be grounded when we dance in and with the present moment.

The music I produce flows from ambient to dance genres like deep house, downtempo, and dub techno interweaving field recordings, digital synthesis, and samples. My DJ sets span genres like ambient, RnB, downtempo, various flavors of house, and dub techno.
