Part two of my “indie” favorites leans into songs that absorb the listener through groove, texture, and atmosphere. Compared to part one, the selections here probe the psychedelic and the sensorial, evolving sounds pioneered by artists like MBV, Broadcast, and Stereolab.
This is second in a series of 10 mixes of 2025 favorites. The selections reflect a personal, exploratory approach to discovery and curation, with artists and tracks that tend to fall outside typical “best of” lists.

Lovely selections! Even though their new one didn't make the cut, that Stereolab cover sure knocked me off my feet!
Oh gosh, what did I miss?? Is one of the songs on here a Stereolab cover? I know I'm in the minority in the assessment of their recent album, but none of the songs really resonated with me and I have to call them as I see them!

Really enjoyed this high energy listen from start to finish! My favorite stretch was the three starting with Juana Molina, one of my favorite artists.

I'm usually not a big fan of live albums but these versions are complete reinventions. She's a fascinating artist and has incredible stage presence if you ever get a chance to see her live.
