“The light of memory, or rather the light that memory lends to things, is the palest light of all. I am not quite sure whether I am dreaming or remembering, whether I have lived my life or dreamed it.”
― Eugène Ionesco
This is a lush and transporting mix of beautiful, peaceful, and atmospheric indie pop (mostly). The songs are characterized by a lovely formlessness that suits the moniker ambient pop. Over half the tracks are in English (USA/Canada/England/NZ), and the remainder are from Europe (Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Poland, Italy) and Japan. Over half are from 2007-2013; the earliest track is from 1980 and the most recent from 2025. The mix is timestamped and I will put the tracklist in a comment.
The cover is a portrait Dora Maar took of her friend Nusch Eluard (entitled "The years lie in wait for you"; 1932)

You set quite a mood with this one! Thanks for acquainting me with that Cindy track (no relation to San Francisco's Cindy, I gather?). Loved hearing White Poppy in there as well.
So glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the comment! I have a ton of respect for your mixes, so it means a lot. Yeah, this Cindy is not the SF Cindy! There's actually an interesting backstory to the Cindy on this mix, where the songwriter invented this persona "Cindy" and then found a singer and they did an album in the voice of the persona. I haven't listened closely enough to the album to parse apart the story they are telling... Thanks for listening!
@Vodem Thank you and likewise! That's super interesting, thanks for the info!
amazing selection. I had not heard that JPSE track before, very cool. Such a great band. My ex manager managed them and I got to see them a few times. Also great to see Blue Hawaii , Broadcast and Deerhunter on here. Another Fantastic show my friend.
Thank you! I never got to see JPSE but I've been a fan since discovering them during my college radio days. I always loved "Own Two Feet" and was delighted to discover this more atmospheric version. Glad you enjoyed the show and thanks for your comment!
Thanks for that beguiling selection. Just the sort of music that I didn’t know I needed. A lot of new discoveries but you expertly captured a mood. 🙏🏻
I missed this until now. Thanks so much for listening and the kind comment!
just an amazing mix!😀
Thanks for listening and your comment. I'm so glad you liked it so much!
That was a real treat, Victor! So many great tracks and artists.
I think I'll have to revisit this mix during the winter months to have the perfect combination of mood and weather. 😊
Great work!
So glad you liked it! Yes, I think you're right that the middle of summer may not be the prime moment for the mix. 😆 It will be here waiting for you once the weather turns!
a divine, ethereally transportive diamond of set Vodem!!
can't praise this one enough and everyone else has said everything I could have tried to verbalise.
my very favourite of your mixes thus far.

Thanks so much for listening and for your comment!
And thanks for the re-post as well!
It’s in my top five Vodem mixes ever, and I’ve been the lucky recipient of Vodem mixes for 30+ years!
Wow! That's amazing. So glad you dig it so much! You know, Jim E. -- one of the few others who has a similarly long relationship with my mixes -- said the same thing, so something about this mix seems to resonate in an extra way...
Lovely selection that created a blissful aural journey. Loads of new tracks and artists to get my teeth into. Many thanks.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it and found some intriguing avenues for investigation! And thanks for the comment.
