From Melbourne Australia, Velatine is an established project perched on the edge of darkwave and gothic from Australian producer / composer Loki Lockwood who injects a unique and fresh sound to these genres with cinematic overtones and dark lyrical aesthetics.
Much like the so-called early gothic movement who were un-afraid to experiment, Velatine shifts its music from what's expected, working with different lead vocalists [this one features Nocturna again] and weaving aspects from his favourite genres of Gothic, Darkwave, Post-Punk, Industrial and more Velatine becomes hard to define as one style. Merging this range of influences absorbed over his years involved in performance and production in the music industry certainly makes for an eclectic listening experience and perhaps not what might be expected at first glance.
