The UK Hip Hop Award started in 2021 by TJ Chill during the Covid Pandemic when the world was closed as a way of bringing about recognition to and celebrating Hip Hop based in the UK, which has been an active scene since the early 1980's. The idea is to recognise and celebrate some of the unsung heroes and heroines of UK Hip Hop with an annual Award to a worthy winner and an accompanying showcase shining the spotlight on the talent within UK Hip Hop.
