The Takeover Countdown is an all-genres theme-based radio talk show hosted by husband and wife team Arvell “Mastrmynd” Poe and Carmencita “Tha Diva” Poe. During their broadcast, they count down songs of various genres that relate to the day’s discussion.
Arvell started the show in 2006 on www.vvcradio.com as The Takeover: Top 20 Countdown and Carmencita joined him as co-host and show producer the following year. They had a number of celebrity guests on the show while addressing topics in relationships, politics, entertainment, and pop culture. The listening audience was able to chat with the couple while they broadcast live on the air. The show was picked up by WAEC 860AM in 2013 after a brief hiatus and the name was changed.
