The Classics Cafe

Harlem, New York, United States

Scorpio, practically grew up in the recording studio. His father was lead singer of “The Gary Toms Empire” during the mid-to-late 70s. The super group recorded the global smash "7-6-5-4-3-2-1….Blow Your Whistle” and other disco/funk chart-toppers.

He started mixing as a freshman in high school, and by his senior year he was submitting cassettes of his 10-minute mega-mixes and remixes to WYNE, 91.5 FM, which led to club bookings in New York, Newark (NJ), and Philadelphia (PA). Currently, he has a significant fan base on YouTube and various music platforms.

"The Classics Cafe" mix series pays tribute to some of the greatest deejays and remix specialists from back in the day: Tom Moulton, Walter Gibbons, Larry Levan, Frankie Crocker, Ted Currier, Aldo Marin, the Latin Rascals, John "Jellybean" Benitez, Grandmaster Flash, DJ Red Alert, the late Jam-Master Jay, Louie Vega (Masters at Work), Tony Humphries, and Shep Pettibone, to name a few.
