Unceded Algonquin Territory, Canada
I am a white settler living on unceded Algonquin Land (Rupert, QC). I started mixing with Brize & the Killer Beets Collective (Niagara-based DJ collective) in the early 2010's. I believe that dance and music is a spiritual practice that can facilitate people’s connection to themselves, each other, and the natural world. I am attracted to music that moves and inspires me. Usually my mixes turn out playful, eclectic, and quirky. I prefer to play in atmospheres that are heart driven, safe, accessible, and encouraging of anyone who may wish to participate (whether by dancing, playing along w/ instruments, stretching, flowing, making art, meditating... whatever feels nourishing).
Beyond dance music, I have made mixes for people for various uses: fitness classes, weddings, board game nights (themed to the board game), Halloween parties, outdoor play, etc. I am not the most technically skilled or innovative mixer, but I have fun with it.
