Tone Capone and Johnny 2Jobs linked up through a mutual friend while Tone was performing through out the country and Johnny Owns a local recording studio and label Screaming Owl Records. Through lots of conversation on music and life they clicked, it seems like they were destined to work together on something big. Tone at the time was creating a solo project and began recording his music at Screaming Owl studio. Eventually, Johnny started listening to the instrumentals Tone was working on and began to freestyle. When Tone heard Johnny’s lyricism, he saw the potential for a collaboration together, and they began experimenting with music. Not long after that they began creating and recording music that spoke to a wide range of people and the feedback was overwhelming. Tone and John realized they had something, soon there after their group South City Commission was born. Their name came from Johnny’s origin, Southern Illinois (South) and Tone’s Origin, Chicago Illinois (City).
