A weekly show broadcast on shmuFM from Aberdeen, Scotland.
The politics of music and the music of politics, and its effect on society, are not given due consideration in either academic circles or popular culture discourse. This show seeks to go beyond an aesthetic appreciation of music to look at the social and political conditions that inspired the music in question, and how music has, in turn, attempted to impact on those conditions.
We are both musicians, and we spend a lot of time discussing the political and social significance of why we make music. We wanted to broaden this discussion and involve other people making music in it, as well as people who love listening to music.
