This has been a long time coming... a very long time! For years, my collection of cassette-tape recordings has sat in a box in the attic, unheard, unused.
Now, I've finally digitised the material to share it with anyone who may have an interest in what pop radio used to sound like in years gone by.
Featured on this channel are my BBC Radio 1 Top 20 and Top 40 shows from 1977 and '78 plus one incomplete show from 1980.

Some people have questioned the dates given for these programmes, but I can promise you that my teenage hand-writing on the cassettes doesn't lie!
The Official Charts Company data is always a week out for this era, because they don't take into account that the chart was published every Tuesday (not on Sundays) during the 1970s.
