Radio Emma Toc - celebrating wireless station 2MT. Also known as 'Two Emma Toc', 2MT was set up in 1922 by employees of the Marconi Scientific Instrument Company Ltd after radio hams of the day petitioned for a regular speech & music service. Guided by the irrepressable Captain Peter Eckersley, this small team of enthusiastic & gifted Marconi employees created - perhaps unintentionally - the first regular light entertainment broadcast programme every Tuesday evening for nearly a year. All involved went on to play major roles in either Marconi's or the newly formed BBC.

We are not re-creating 2MT, but would like to acknowledge & pay tribute to these early pioneers by having fun on the radio...
