Proper Drum & Bass Chicago is a night, an ideal, and a collective. Founded in 1999 by Chicago’s native son Doctorgroo, and operated alongside Phantom 45 and Jackie Pancotto, Proper has gone on to host some of the brightest and best drum & bass talent on the planet. Every Tuesday in the always lively Wicker Park neighborhood, Proper is held at Debonair Social Club.
And it’s free.
Powering Proper is a stable of local resident DJs and artists that are constantly pushing the sound forward. This collective operates under the philosophy that drum & bass need not operate in the shadows. No longer banished to the side rooms of the early 1990s, proper drum & bass belongs front and center.
Come with an open mind.
