Kush Arora is a prolific producer and DJ from Berkeley, San Francisco area. Under the Only Now moniker he merges mutant Kuduro, meticulous sound design, powerful ambient and elements of other genres into a unique force, while being informed on a global level.
His seething mix for Pantropical encapsulates a particular strain of influences for Only Now, particularly the tonal and emotional nuances from his peers and idols that have helped him reduce his wide range of influences to form a cohesive vision. The music here flows from one extreme to another without ever coming-off jarring or disjointed. Whether it’s Controlled Bleeding’s unique musings, the primal energy of the Kuduro genre, or Senyawa's avantrock/doom, Kush hunts for the most primitive and unsheathed sounds he can find. This set also includes new unreleased work from the Indian 'Unclassical' series he is currently working on, with tabla player Robin Sukhadia, as well as some brand new Only Now tracks.
