PHD’s love affair with dance music began in earnest while studying at Manchester University in the 1990s when he went to numerous clubs including the famous Haҫienda to listen to DJs such as Sasha, John Digweed, Judge Jules and Justin Robertson play. This love of dance music (in particular the house genre) has seen him travel far and wide to listen to DJs playing and provides the inspiration and foundation for his DJing.

PHD is a graduate of the highly respected London Sound Academy and has also spent time in the studio of the associated DJ Gym in Birmingham perfecting his DJ and music production skills. PHD works from a home studio fitted with the latest Pioneer DJ equipment including CDJ-2000NXS2 CDJs and DJM-900NXS2 mixer. PHD has played sets at legendary and well known venues including Ministry of Sound (London), Egg (London), Club Reina (London), Horse & Groom (London) and Ibiza Rocks Bar (Ibiza).
