90s GOT SOUL

In the 90s, alongside the raise of hip hop & house music, and outside a very commercial urban/rnb/newjackswing trend, some true soul & funk music was resisting, struggling to revive the spirit and sound of the 70s in a digital era. Europe was key in this quest (especially through the Acid Jazz movement). During this transition period, they were paving the way for the next thing, the so-called Neo Soul.
