The Mondo Moose Mixtapes

Charlotte, United States

I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. In the late 1990s, I moved to New York City as a musician, where among other artists, including Kimya Dawson, Jeffrey Lewis and Regina Spektor, I found a creative home in the Lower East Side Anti-folk community. I lived in New Orleans, LA for about 2 years, until the storm in 2005 brought me up to Charlotte, NC where I've now resided for almost 20 years.

In 2012, my old music career came back around briefly when a song of mine, "Gone Gone", recorded for 1999's "Crazy Like An Ambush" LP, was picked up for Hewlett Packard's 2012-13 Impresora Deskjet Commercial Campaign in Central and South America. The song had previously had been featured in the Antifolk Vol. 1 compilation disc released by UK's Rough Trade label in 2002.

These days, I'm a guy in a sad country doing what makes him happy at the moment, which is playing the tunes he loves for his friends, and discovering new ones too.
