Metroxylon is a new stage in the music of Barcelona artist Roger Mercader. His relationship with music builds up a long-term musical career, which goes from piano lessons and music theory at 10 and the beginning of do-it-yourself production when contacting for the first time with a personal computer at 12, to several record releases in the house/techno scene along with hundreds of dj sets arround Spain during 8 years.
His 4x4 music basis evolves and adds more flexible sonorities and structures once Metroxylon moves to Berlin in 2008. Due to diverse psychedelic experiences and insights, he looks for deeper meaning in what he does, in order to explore his creativity with no structural or stylistic boundaries.
Metroxylon has found the way to make a creative quantum leap and starting to use his music to a higher purpose. Quoting Bill Hicks "Life is just an illusion and we are the imagination of ourselves". And every illusion needs a good soundtrack.
