Drew McCormack is a man of many hats. Well at the moment, two to be precise: primary teacher at one of Scotland’s most creative schools – St. Albert’s Primary in Pollokshields – and also the manager of one of Glasgow’s up & coming young acts, Mandulu & Hephzibah.
Since 1980, Drew has played in a variety of original acts from 80s prog rockers Moscow to, most recently, The Anarchic Love Alliance. Drew also has been name checked on both BBC Radio Scotland at The Spree and Loud N’ Prouds’ musical rockumentary The Bungalow as being a major force in rejuvenating the Paisley music scene in the noughties, culminating in the opening of the venue in Paisley.
In 2012 Drew helped the Prestwick Business Community with their new music festival, Prestfest; for the following 6 years, he oversaw the organisation and management of the festival. A strong advocate for community involvement and empowerment, Drew has helped create festivals in Linwood, Johnstone and Renfrew in recent years.
