Chicago, United States
I began my DJ journey in 1980 at Whitney M. Young High School, spinning sock hops, basement parties, and any Chicago space that needed a soundtrack. As the scene grew, I shifted into promoting, throwing parties, supporting other DJs, and helping shape the city’s nightlife from behind the curtain.
A long career in retail and real estate pulled me away, but never disconnected me. In the early 2000s, the itch returned. I launched a monthly event called Unwind at a West Loop bar (Red Kiva), and the love for playing music reignited. With encouragement from the same brothers I learned the game with, I stepped back into the booth and onto the path I started decades ago.
Today, through Beats from Bronzeville, I channel that full history; South Side roots, Chicago house legacy, soulful energy, and the culture that raised me. My Mixcloud sets reflect a lifetime of movement, community, and the rhythm of Chicago.
