The Lion Rockers Hi-Fi journey started in 2004 with two record collectors, two custom-built speaker boxes, and a growing obsession with roots and culture. By 2009 Joshs workshop was dedicated to crafting a fully-fledged traditional reggae soundsystem.
Lion Rockers Hi-Fi Soundsystem launched in 2012 and from that point onwards they have been pushing the culture forward. Their regular dances have featured guests from New Zealand and abroad including the likes of Channel One soundsystem (UK), Mungo’s Hi-Fi (UK), Alpha steppa (UK), Jstar (uk), Kindred sounds (NZ), Earl Gateshead (UK)Rob smith (UK), Sister Nancy (JA) legal shot (FR), Charlie P (UK)Speng bond (UK)Naram (NZ)
Fast forward to 2014 Lion Rockers Hi-Fi family has grown into a collective of like-minded people forwarding roots and culture and spreading a message of equality, unity and love to the people of Aotearoa.
Also josh is the co-creator of NZ first soundsystem festival - Ruapuke Roots. along with partner Red Robin.
