Green Valley, Az, United States
Brenda and I retired to Green Valley, Arizona, after careers in service, teaching, and travel. I grew up in Northeast Wisconsin, attended Pulaski High School, and served as a police officer in Kaukauna before teaching science in Wrightstown and Shawano. We lived in Green Bay, Kaukauna, and Appleton before selling everything to travel full-time in an RV. For five years we volunteered in national parks, leading astronomy programs and offering free shows under the dark skies of middle America, before settling in Green Valley. Music has been a constant thread in my later life—I’ve long played the didgeridoo and handpan, and now focus on the whistle, exploring duets or accompanying Brenda on hammered dulcimer. Philosophically, I consider myself a humanistic religious naturalist, akin to a Unitarian Universalist.
