Joe Wilkens is a DJ from Utrecht, Netherlands. Raised in a musical family, music naturally became an intrinsic part of Joe’s life from an early age. Electronic music first caught his attention in the mid- 90ʼs. His love for Electronic music and especially house/techno turned to the decks when he started DJing at age twelve at classmate’s parties and helping his dad out with his weekly radio-shows. Joe quickly became obsessed with playing records for others.
As a resident for his own events (L8) he earned his stripes spinning techno at raves and nowadays persistently rocks venues and festival-sites. His long lasting experience as a DJ gives him the ability to move effortlessly from house to banging techno in his own distinctive blend of tough funk and hardgroove records.
He and his fellow L8 resident /brother Behoorlijk recently decided to team up in a collaboration called Midnight Machines. To bring their unique underground flavor to the people!
