Born in Udine - italy in 1968, in the middle of the '80s, he was drummer in a hc punk band. Since the end of the 80s started his experience as MC and DJ, spinning hiphop, funk, dub, jungle d'n'b vinyls. In 1991 he grounded one of the most important militant rap crossover band in Italy, Ariadigolpe; they released 2 albums, a 7" live e.p., various compliations and performing hundreds of concerts. In 1997 he left the band. In 1999, Japo moved to Berlin, Mecca for artists and avantgarde musicians. Alongside his work as photograph, he has developed his career as a DJ playing in many venues, mostly alternative spaces and underground clubs in Berlin and Italy.
J.A.P.O.'s djing musical spectrum is very eclectic: from '70s funk to afrobeat, from hiphop-rap to dub, through diffrent forms of contemporary electronic music like jungle, electro, minimal-tech-house. J.A.P.O.'s djset reflect this open musical view, sometimes as a patchwork, sometimes straight but everytime refined and to the point.
