Born and raised in Delano, California and brought up on the sounds of artists like Debbie Deb, Big Daddy Kane and Eric B. and Rakim, Eric Tapia found inspiration from Tony G. and Julio G. of the KDAY Mixmasters and began DJing in the late 1980's. From DJ battles to break dancing to buying his first SP1200 Eric explains that "the whole Beat Street era was just a part of me growing up". From Djing in high school on AM radio and back yard parties to car shows and local concerts in 1994 things began to take off after returning home from the U.S. Military when a mixtape was sent to Greg "Mack Attack" Mack, then with Ruthless Records. Greg Mack was looking for a DJ for one of his artists. Eriq was given the opportunity to tour and met with other well known rappers along the way...Currently Eriq Avalon is on Superadio and HOT 94.1 Fm in Bakersfield,CA....Tune in Friday Nights!
