Hailing from the funky house scene in Durban, South Africa, Jared Chelin aka Dj Cheli has evolved into one of the most renowned local Dj's in the South African funky house scene. He has opened for many international acts such Dj SASH at Sugar Bowl at the Sun City Resort in Gauteng ,as well as playing a few funky house sets at the annual H2O dance festival in Johannesburg.
His love for becoming a disc jockey began at the tender age of 16 where he and his schoolmate decided become mobile dj’s for extra pocket money doing gigs at weddings and office functions.He then opted to become a resident DJ at numerous high profile house clubs in Durban when he reached the legal age of 18. This is where he refined his skills on the decks by meeting older and more experienced djs who helped him become a funky/vocal house Dj. He enjoys every moment behind the decks by giving his audience an unforgettable experience with his music by seamlessly mixing songs into each other with such finesse.
