Gavin AKA ‘Fvthxm’ (fathom) learnt music theory and played the guitar from an early age sparking his passion for creating with sounds. His music mixing began in his bedroom at the age of 16 and was fuelled by the liberation he found in different sounds. He debuted his DJing career at small events and private parties at 17. To hone his DJing skills, he secured gigs in multiple nightclubs across Pretoria gaining even more experience and got mentored by a local DJ in the scene. This gave him the ability to read and understand a crowd and positioning his music to meet their needs. He began, in simultaneity to produce his own music under the tutelage of local producers to develop his unique blend of sounds.
This blend of sounds would often include brass instruments, intricate highhat patterns and deep wobbly bass lines as just some of the influences you may pick up on. In late 2020 he started to release music including his first major productions and collaborations with fellow producer
