Conscious perception, is something usually taken for granted, but when I really think about it, It simply amazes me. Try, for example, to imagine being blind from the day you where born. What does nothing look like? To me, nothing is a pitch blackness with, around the edges, a tinge of red formed by the light that lays on translucent eyelids, interrupted often by the minds eye, wandering, quickly envisioning one thought the next. This is far from nothing, indeed it is, in fact, quite vivid. Nothing, by definition, should really be indescribable. However if, from birth, you'd never seen anything, no colours, unquestionably distinguished from each other, easily compared in difference and contrast, nor any objects to familiarise them with. Then what does nothing look like? A more direct unanswerable question would be, what is the lack of conscious perception like? Horrid I should imagine. Although, one does not miss what one has never had.
