Fantastic set full of quality tunes and superb mixing. I listened to the first part last weekend but then got sidetracked with family stuff, and have been ill and catching up with work this week. So I went back for a full listen just now and really enjoyed it. I donβt listen to that much trance but like the energy and uplifting vibe of the euphoric trance, and really liked Explorer, Nightingale 17 - really fantastic, and the rainbow hunter. As with you, I also don't really listen to a lot of trance these days, although as I've mentioned before, I used to love it in the late 90's / early 00's !!!! ... I like my trance to be energetic, uplifting and with nice euphoric melodies, so a lot of these tracks were for me very reminiscent of those golden years of trance in the late 90's ... How's it going mate ... I'm really happy you enjoyed this set!! ... When I do trance sets, the tempo has to be 140 BPM and the tunes have to be uplifting!! Just like trance was back in 99 / 2000 ... I'm also glad you understand all the work and focus that goes into making a great set ... Not everyone understands it, until they try being a DJ themselves, and then they realise it's not as easy as it looks ... Well, if you want to be "good" at it, anyway!! Haha ππ ... perfect timing for this fantastic set Steve, when I started deejaying I only played trance for years. But because it isn't released much on vinyl anymore, I occasionally play some oldskool and when I've collected enough new trance after saving for a while, I play a set again, but the new trance is often on the harder side. regarding this set I want to compliment you on your way of playing, because euphoric trance is not easy to play due to the epic and many long melodies that are in it. So this set proves once again how great your deejay skills are. It's a fantastic journey of perfectly chosen tracks, where from the many good tracks I got a special feeling of "Nightingale XVII" a wonderful record as well as "Phuket" Thank you Steve for this wonderful treat that gave me goosebumps for 90 minutes. Great to see you here Jacco ... Just like you, trance was a huge passion of mine back in the day ... There was a point around 1999 where that was literally all I was buying ... just trance music and hardly anything else!! ππ ... As I said to Shep, I think the genre went through a dry spell for many years, with a very limited number of quality releases, but there has definitely been a resurgence of quality trance in recent years, which can only be a good thing ... I still have fond memories of Ferry Corsten in his peak. Such a prolific producer who had his hand in literally half of all the classics we used to play back in the day ... Even when a record didn't have his official name in the credits, you'd eventually find out that it was actually Ferry Corsten, but recording under a different name ππ ... You picked out two of my favourites there. "Nightingale" and "Phuket" are two brilliant tracks that I knew I had to include when planning this set ... Like techno, I only ever skirted around the edges of trance back in the day so this just as well have been a brand new mix of new tunes for me. And, what a mix it is Steve. Loved it bro - energetic, powerful, uplifting, rousing and so well executed. I love that a lot of us are putting out different genres to alter the mediocrity that too much house can bring. That said, I am really looking forward to your soulful house sessions bro and I know they will be anything but mediocre house by numbers sets! Hope all well! π―π₯π΅β₯π
How's it going Shep ... Glad you enjoyed this one mate! ... As you know, I don't put out trance sets that often, but when I do, it has to be on point ... Even though I was a massive trance fan back in the late 90's / early 2000's, I "jumped ship" and all but gave up on the genre sometime around 2005 as I felt the quality of the music had drastically decreased ... and I got thoroughly tired of the lack of quality releases ... However, I didn't give up on the genre completely, and was pleasantly surprised to find a very talented crop of new producers emerging around a decade ago ... and to be fair, the scene has been pretty healthy in the last few years, so there are some fantastic tunes to be found ... Still nothing like the golden era over two decades ago, but at least there are decent releases now, and the genre still has a dedicated fanbase who refuse to give up their love of trance ... I consider myself a "casual" trance follower these days ... I might throw up a trance set a couple of times a year, just for a change now and again ... but I'm far more into my deep house these days!!! ... Still ... it's good to keep things fresh and be versatile, and I wanted to do another high octane session after my recent techno set ... But it's back to soulful house now, so I've pretty much gone full circle!! ... Glad you enjoyed this one mate, and I'll be looking out for your next session! Enjoy the end of the week!!! ππ§π΅

It's a while since I last put out a trance set, so this was something I'd been itching to do for a while ... but as I discussed with Raw, if I'm going to play trance, it has to fit a certain criteria ... lush synths, emotional melodies, uplifting beats and high energy ... add to that some sweet female vocals on a few tracks, and you have the recipe for an epic trance excursion ... This is truly an amazing and awesome mix! It has been quite some time since I actually heard some deep Trance music, and this mix definitely hit my sweet spiritual spot and zone! Every track here is uplifting! I think the last deep Trance song I heard was βSandstormβ by Darude, a Finnish DJ and record producer! I love that song from 1999 and have not heard it in ages!
