Hello everyone ... Those of you who've been following me for a while will know that there was a time last year when I was regularly posting soulful house sets ... Well I'm in that mood again, so here we go ... this is the first of many!! ...... Thank you so much for helping get this show to 4th in the global soulful house chart!!! Thank you for the lovely message Steve . There is no doubt that era produced some beautiful sounding music. So pure and soulful. We would go out a lot in Hollywood to a club called DEEP that Marques Wyatt ran for years and no doubt was my favourite time going out dancing to deep soulful House. I was very fortunate to see the likes of Miguel Migs, Lisa Shaw, MAW, Chuck Love, Mark Farina, etc in LA in those early 2000s. Very special times which still play a strong role in my tune selection for my sets today. I hope you like some of my mixes, lots to choose from and the ones similar to this style we’re discussing are the ‘Back In The Day Deep House’ mixes. Hope you like. Nothing but love, Sammy

Thank you Sam!!! ... It's always a pleasure to see when people have listened to older sets that I posted a while ago, and tbh I'd totally forgotten what I played in this set ... I just had a quick look at the tracklist, so having refreshed my memory I can see why you enjoyed this one so much ... There were a lot of older tracks in this set, and I think it's pretty hard to go wrong with classic productions from Miguel Migs, Masters At Work, Mark Di Meo etc ... I can imagine you would've heard some brilliant deep and soulful house in California at that time!! ... Hard to believe it's already over two decades ago now, but it was a really special time for house music ... The good old days of Bobby & Steve at Garage City, and I'm sure LA and San Francisco had some amazing soulful house nights back in those days!! ... I still love a lot the current soulful house releases, but there was something special about the music produced in the 90's and early 2000's, and of course having all the music coming out on vinyl and being at the record stores made the whole scene more organic ... Anyway, a huge thanks to you for checking out this and a few other of my sets ... It is much appreciated!!! ... I will most definitely check out some of your mixes as well ... This is the second mix of yours I've heard in a row! Such a refreshing selection. Take Me To Paradise was the highlight for me I think! You can't beat Miguel Migs. Fucking hell, just found it's from 2000. Still sounds so fresh now. My head is blown!

"Take Me To Paradise" is an absolute stonecold classic, and indeed it does still sound as fresh as a daisy! ... There was a lot of great soulful house released in the early 2000's ... As for Miguel Migs ... yeah he is the don! ... He's up there with Masters At Work when it comes to the quality of his productions!!! 😎🎧🎵

I do have a very wide ranging taste in music, so it's not easy for me to really focus solely on one particular genre, but when I do decide which genre to mix, I always try to make it something memorable, and something that people will enjoy! ... Likewise, your sessions are also very high quality, and your knowledge of music shines through in each set you create ... The most important thing is we have to have love for the music!!!! ... Great to hear you back on a soulful tip Steve and what a session to do so with. Sublime (and real) Soulful House with so many great tracks all seamlessly blended as we would expect. Standouts for me - Eminence, Reelsoul, Nikos Diamantopoulos (think I’ve spelt that correctly!), Ann Nesby, Industry Standard and the timeless Sinfonia Della Notte. I'd been wanting to get back to some soulful house for a while, but as you know yourself, when you have a broad taste in music, it's easy to get sidetracked with so many other genres ... Decided to dig out some older tracks for this one, and they are still sounding great today! ... You did indeed spell Nikos's name correctly! ... Oh and Ann Nesby ... what a voice!!!! 😍 ... And as Stefado also mentioned, Sinfonia Della Notte is just a timeless masterpiece, and it works really well in a soulful set, just as much as it does in a latin house set ...
