Welcome to "Flashback - Summer 2001" ... This is a selection of some of my favourite trance tracks from the summer of 2001 ... Twenty years have passed, but these tracks still sound great to me ... This was the era when DJ Tiesto released some of his best music, along with Ferry Corsten, Paul Van Dyk and many others ... These tracks take me back to being a 19 year old student again ... Plenty of great memories!! ... For those of you who like trance music, I hope you enjoy this journey back in time ... The first few tracks are instrumentals, before building up to some classic vocal tracks ... What an epic trance set - full of tracks with drive and emotion, and which brought back great memories of summers in my late 20's: Surburban Train, Stay With Me, Precious Heart, Para Mi, and Save Me. You did a fantastic job bringing all these together. Superb Steve!!! π₯π₯π₯

Whilst I think it's important to keep track of the current music scene, I think it's also important to have these little trips down memory lane, so we don't forget all the great music that has been released in the past ... I had the same feeling when I heard your funky house mix from the 2000's ... it was a great time for funky house ... and also when I heard your early 90's d&b session, it brought back some great memories! ...... As for this set, I think trance enjoyed one of its healthiest periods during the late 90's / early 2000's, so I really enjoyed digging out these old classics and bringing them back into the spotlight again ... You picked out some of my faves there ... Suburban Train was one of Tiesto's greatest ever tracks in my opinion ... Stay With Me, Precious Heart, Para Mi etc etc all great tracks too! ...
