Mathew Denomey (a native of LaSalle, Ontario) discovered Detroit Techno in the mid 90s and began exploring the realm of electronic music, during what was probably the tail end of the original rave era.
Heavily influenced by Detroit and a “techy vibe”, it was a sound that originated overseas – Jungle / Drum n Bass, that The Enemy was drawn to when stepping behind the decks. A decade and a half later and that remains unchanged.
Currently residing in Toronto, he would tell you his style has changed quite drastically over the years. Moving from an aggressive, in your face approach to mixing, often accompanied by a heavy and frantic track selection. To a more laid back vibe, understanding the mix is a single, cohesive journey. To be explored. Expect deep, trippy, spacey, dark, minimal soul, all wrapped in funk, from a master of the mix & blend.
