DJ, event manager, entrepreneur & music historian. MadCoins, a metaphor for positive change, has been manipulating music and dance floors since the mid 90s, when he first discovered the art of deejaying in Madison, WI. Since that time he has lived in London and now Austin, TX while deejaying multiple residencies, clubs and more than 1000 individual events including well-known events multiple times such as SXSW, ESPN's X-Games and The Honda Civic Tour. He has also opened shows for such notable acts as DJ Shadow and Brother Ali among others.
Existing as part ethnomusicologist, part crate digger and part party rocker, MadCoins puts research and unique flavor into all live sets. MadCoins prides himself on his improvisational, open format skills and focuses on music that exists in periphery while not excluding music the listener is familiar with, often in the form of fresh remixes and creative edits.
