DJ MIXNIX plays on the danceable surprise effect to conquer recent clubculture’s tendency for conformity and predictability. With a passion for handcrafted off-wall musical gems from tropical and peregrine spheres and a background in avant-garde electronic and other urban dance music he manages to take his audience on an ever evolving adventure-trip with a contemporary cosmopolitan twist. His approach to create an unique musical journey more in the sense of an experimental performance artist values creative spontaneity and progressive imperfection higher than aesthetic clichés and an all too serious technical approach which reflects in his intuitive and sometimes rough mixing-style. As host and resident of the Sangoma Sessions, a regular party for dancefloor approved worldmusic in southern Austria, he shared the stage and vision with artists like Bayete, Kaschiel, Barrio Lindo or Umoja.
