Club 76 first became an idea in 1996 with one of my best mates Rob Lowe. After watching a band called Tummybug at the Cambridge pub in Shoebury, near Southend we walked home. On that walk back to Rob’s house the 76 sign followed us. The next day Rob challenged me to open a nightclub and said one day you will have a nightclub called Club 76. I bought my first house in 2001 and installed the sign on my Shed. Shed 76 at the bottom of the garden was born. This became a hangout mainly for everyone to smoke.
The next chapter was when my wife and I bought our first house together. We named our garage Club 76, people bought us lights, signs, shot glasses, yards of ale, name badges and Club 76 found its personality. A little bit to the left of normal, eccentric, fun and a place to laugh and enjoy an afterparty. In 2004 we bought a house with a triple garage and had a really big Club 76 for some pre-children parties.
