80’s Soul, 90’s R’n’B, Neo-Soul, Smooth & Rare Groove selector.
I started collecting vinyl in the mid 80’s. At that time, I just loved music and didn’t know much about genres etc, if i heard a song and liked it, then that was that.
Nearing the end of the 80’s, I started to focus on soul and funk. That then led on to acid jazz.
When I started playing out in the early 90’s, I fell into R&B. That really ignited my passion and took my love for music to another level. I had found my spiritual genre.
As I delved deeper into the genre, I went back to the genres roots from the 80’s and late 70’s. It was at this time that I touched on rare groove, but not seriously.
But into the late naughties, my passion was now rare groove but the bread and butter playing out was still R&B.
