Slaughtering dancefloors across the bay, Shawn “DJ Autopsy” Weathers loves a hard hitting beat. Whether it’s the dense sounds of heavy metal or the pounding percussion of drum and bass, as long as it’s a driving beat, he loves it. Walking that fine line between appropriate and absolutely psycho, DJ Autopsy embodies all things dark and dirty.

Originally a metal head, DJ Autopsy got his first set of tables in 1997. With hopes of forming a band that never happened, he began experimenting with hip-hop and house tracks while trying his hand at turntablism. That same year he went to his first rave, Acid Breaks 3, at the legendary Home Base warehouse. It was there he met his filthy, elusive love, that esoteric tempest, drum and bass.

From there, DJ Autopsy was on a roll: in 2000 he spun his first party at Maritime Hall, in 2004 he was a WMC delegate, and in 2006, he gained residency at Gorilla Thursdays and with Primitive Science. It was also at this time he met Ch, the other half of Blood
