Sapporo, Japan
kebana, the Japanese traditional art of floral arrangement gets its name from the words “Ike” 生 meaning life, and “hana” 花 meaning flower. IOW, the art of giving life to flowers. This may seem presumptuous given that obviously they were already living things before being harvested for artistic use, but the idea being that through careful arrangement and discipline, one can bring flowers to their highest potential beauty. So it is the same with Audio Ikebana. With careful arrangement and discipline one can bring already existing original recordings to a higher state.
I have been collecting, curating and DJing vinyl records for over thirty years not for an elitist or snobbish fixation, but rather a deep and abiding love for all things vinyl. The love, intricacies and permanence of this physical medium is my passion. Just as one would never use a plastic spoon in a Japanese tea ceremony or plastic flowers in ikebana, Audio Ikebana can only be done with vinyl records.
Please enjoy!
