Ali is a Brooklyn-based DJ by way of metro-Detroit. While no genre is off-limits, his sets lean heavily into ‘80s textures, electro, and variations of house and techno woven together through long-form blends.
With a soft spot for the intimate dance-floor, he’s carved out a space in nightlife with a distinctly DIY state of mind, made possible by the support of local selectors and devoted dancers alike at spaces including Bossa Nova Civic Club, Good Room, Jupiter Disco, Elsewhere, Marble Bar.
His recent party series Soundcheck has taken form as a monthly radio series for 8Ball Radio, channeling experimental and downtempo sounds.
