All Over, United States
Got hooked on late nights, dank and seedy clubs back in '86 after being invited out by an older friend who got me in the club. Just remember the DJ and his choices in 12"' records--Mixing Love and Rockets "Ball of Confusion to Eric B and Rakim's "Paid in Full", Skinny Puppy's "Dig It" and "Cocaine and Sex" by Renegade SW...and throwing on Beastie Boy's "Hold It Now" right after "Yo Lee Roy..." and of course so many great import 12". The music dancing, and friends was what it was all about. In 40's now and you won't catch me at a club. I just make music based on my past influences--BassBin Twins, Electroliers, Dust Brothers, J-Dilla, and when In Dust We Trust by Chemical Bros came out--it was like the music I wanted to make, but gear was too pricey for a 20 year old back then. Now in my little home studio I can make my beats, arrange and throw em up for no other reason but it is my Zen time when making tech music. I rarely stay up on what's being played--best music was always after 2am
