A native of Taitung, Taiwan, Yii-Ting began taking piano lessons at the age of 4. After a few years, through the inspiration of neighbors, she began to learn the violin. In 2006, Yii-Ting won first place in the city of Taitung to enter a nation-wide violin competition in Taiwan. At age 15, Yii-Ting performed the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto with the Hsin Sheng Junior High School Orchestra. She was also the concertmaster for multiple concerts with the orchestra. Years later, Yii-Ting came to the United States to continue her music studies. In 2013, she was invited to play a solo with the Bellarmine Civic Orchestra in Louisville, Kentucky. She is currently a member of the CSUN Symphony Orchestra. Yii-Ting is a senior pursuing her B.M. in Violin Performance, studying with Michael Ferril.
