Yoshitaka Shirakura (Konvektion / Shindou / the Calm)

Yoshitaka Shirakura is a DJ and party organizer based in Tokyo whose musical style crosses back and forth across different genres such as noise, avant-garde, and techno. He is good at creating and distorting dance floors by mixing earth trembling grooves, cutting-edge intervals of the sounds, and trebles that he has been delicately faced with though his exploration of noise music.

In recent years, he’s organized “Konvektion” an experimental techno party at Contact Tokyo with Takaaki Itoh and DJ Yazi. Also, several other parties and festival are regularly organized by Shirakura such as “Shindou” an avant-garde music party that intermingles sound art, noise, and drone, “Matatabi” a techno party teaming up with Yasunobu Suzuki, and “the Calm” an ambient festival in a rural mountainous area of Japan.
