Eduardo Icaza was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Mr. Icaza joined Centro Ecuatoriano Norteamericano in 1997. In 2000, he was commended as Teacher of the Year at the age of twenty-five. In 2004, he attended the ABLA (Association of Bi-National Centers of Latin America) Convention held in Guatemala. In 2010, he was an invited guest at the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), a professional exchange program sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs – U.S. Department of State. Afterwards, he added to the CEN English Program’s Curriculum the first entirely content-based course, American History. Mr. Icaza, as the bi-national center’s Academic Director, oversees a faculty of 51 teachers and is responsible for the English language learning of 4,500 students monthly
