Gary Duvernay is a sound artist, designer, researcher and writer graduating from the Critical Inquiry Lab at Design Academy Eindhoven in 2026. His practice moves across installation, sonic composition, live performance, curatorial work and critical writing, with sound as the consistent thread — understood not as aesthetic material alone but as a political and social force that organises bodies, spaces and what can be heard within them.
His critical writing on sound, community and political acoustics has been published by Tilleul
Publication and in various other contexts. His current work centres on acoustic justice — a practice-led inquiry into the redistribution of the heard, developed through custom-built sound
installations, granular processing techniques and the use of vibrational voice as
compositional material.
