The Women’s Media Camp is a place for collaborative instruction and practice in traditional and new media, including recording and editing audio and video, webstreaming, podcasting, and social media.

The inaugural camp on Denman Island mentors from both on and off Denman Island, including Vancouver, San Francisco, New York and Zurich.

Among other events, we live broadcasted from the the Walking With Our Sisters memorial.that opens at the K’omoks band office August 1. This traveling commemorative art installation developed by Christie Belcourt includes more than 1,700 pairs of beaded moccasin vamps honouring the lives of missing and murdered indigenous women. Nine members of the Denman community have beadwork included in the project – probably the per capita record for any community in the country!
