Women is produced by Helena Naeff [Hellie Berry] and Naima Bouchtaoui in Amsterdam. The series is built around the fact they both felt a lack of representation of feminists of color and non-western feminists and the issues they’re dealing with in Western society. Each episode they focus on a country and feminists that play a significant role in the women’s movement by researching the country and its history, politics, women’s rights, LGBTQI rights and the music culture and heritage. They select music to illustrate the story of these marvelous women on their radio show.
